Finally! A fitness program that corrects your posture.

This 12 week 3-phase program was designed with you in mind.

It takes cardio, lengthening and strengthening exercises to help rebuild the most important muscles within your body. It will help you gain strength to correctly hold your skeletal in place.

Structured PerFIT programs are on hold. A return is planned for 2027; timing to be confirmed.Read the program update ↓

The vision behind PerFIT.

Meet our founder ↗

Posture PerFIT began with Mellissa’s aim to bring postural awareness and correction, where appropriate, into her work with each patient. She wanted treatment to consider how the person moves, where they feel restricted, and what they need strength or confidence to do.

That thinking extends from the treatment room to fitness. One side may feel tighter or move less comfortably. Another may have less strength or control. Mellissa discusses what she notices with you, explores it through assessment, and considers how it relates to your goals.

The methodology is individual: use the information in front of you, tailor the approach, and revisit the plan as the person’s needs change. Treatment, mobility work, strengthening, and movement practice each have a place when appropriate.

Mellissa’s way of explaining it…

Think of wheel alignment.

When a car’s alignment is off, one tire may wear faster than the other. Mellissa uses that image to start a conversation about how effort is shared—what is doing more work, what feels restricted, and what might benefit from support.

Human bodies are more adaptable and complex than cars. Differences between sides are common, and there is no single perfect posture for everyone. The analogy prompts a closer look at movement; it does not predict damage from how you stand.

Start with what your body shows us

Similar movements.
Different starting points.

Doing the same exercise on both sides does not always feel the same—or call for the same starting point. Mellissa considers the task, your comfort, and the differences that matter to you.

01 / Mobility

How can you move?

Mobility concerns the movement available at a joint and how you actively use it. Comfort, strength, control, and the demands of the task can all matter. A restriction is something to explore, rather than automatically stretch harder.

02 / Flexibility

How much can tissues lengthen?

Flexibility concerns the capacity of muscles and other soft tissues to lengthen. It contributes to movement, but is not the whole picture. Someone can be flexible and still find a particular movement difficult to control.

03 / Strength & control

What support does the movement need?

One side may need more strength, a different challenge, or time to practise control. The choice of exercise, range, resistance, and pace can be adapted to what assessment and your response suggest.

Feeling “tight” does not automatically mean a muscle is short, and a difference between sides is not automatically a problem. We look at what is relevant to your comfort, function, and goals.

The play on the name

Your perfect fit.
Your PerFIT.

The name brings together “perfect for you” and fitness—a reminder that the plan should fit the person. Mellissa carries that same idea into treatment.

PerFIT fitness

Your fitness, fitted to you.

The movements, coaching, and progression are chosen with your body and goals in mind. Your starting point may call for mobility in one area, strengthening in another, or a different way to practise the task.

PerFIT treatment

Your treatment plan, fitted to you.

Your history, assessment, comfort, and feedback shape the plan. Mellissa considers the affected area alongside relevant movement and related areas, then adapts care as she learns more about your response.

The practice behind the play on words

Practice doesn’t make perfect.
Perfect practice makes perfect.

This familiar saying captures Mellissa’s focus on how you practise. Repeating a movement can reinforce the way you already do it. She wants the practice to be purposeful: an appropriate challenge, useful cues, and room to adjust.

Here, “perfect” means suited to you today—attentive, manageable, and adaptable. The aim is useful practice you can build on, with space to learn.

From treatment to training

A plan around you.
Coaching that pays attention.

Mellissa’s background in competitive dance, Pilates, treatment, and movement informs how she looks at a person’s starting point.

In individual training, Mellissa can build the plan around your assessment and needs: exercise choices, mobility work, resistance, repetitions, and progression. Different sides may need different attention when that is appropriate for you.

In a group class, she brings the same way of thinking to the shared session through individual cues, options, and movement variations where appropriate. A fully individual assessment and program takes place in a one-to-one setting.

The intention is to help you understand what you are practising and why—then use your experience to guide the next step.

Let’s picture this…

One exercise. Two different experiences.

What you notice

A reach feels freer on one side. On the other, you feel restricted and notice yourself arching through your back to complete it.

What Mellissa explores

She discusses what you feel and checks the movement. Mobility, strength, control, comfort, and your task all help inform the explanation.

How practice may change

You might use a smaller range, a different cue, or a supported variation. Relevant mobility or strengthening work may be added to your individual plan.

What guides the next step

Review how it feels and what you can do. The plan can progress or change as your confidence, comfort, and control develop.

An illustrative example, rather than an exercise prescription or a diagnosis of why one side moves differently.

Program update · October 2026

The methodology continues.
The programs are on pause.

Mellissa is currently fully booked and focused on building the practice. Dedicated PerFIT programs are on hold until further notice.

She hopes to bring the programs back sometime in 2027, with the format, availability, and launch date still to be announced. Enrollment is currently closed.

The methodology remains part of how Mellissa approaches treatment and fitness. This page explains that philosophy while the structured programs are paused.

A little clarity

Your body.
Your questions.

Is Posture PerFIT a program I can join right now?

The structured programs are currently on hold and enrollment is closed. Mellissa hopes to reintroduce them during 2027, with timing and details to be confirmed. You can contact the clinic about other care and class options.

Does “postural correction” mean everyone needs to look symmetrical?

No. Bodies vary, and there is no single ideal posture for everyone. Mellissa uses posture and movement as part of a broader conversation about comfort, control, strength, and function—not a requirement to match a particular shape.

Are mobility and flexibility the same thing?

They overlap, but are different. Flexibility concerns how tissues can lengthen. Mobility also considers the movement available at a joint and your ability to use it. Feeling restricted does not automatically mean more stretching is the answer.

Will both sides always need different exercises?

No. The approach is guided by what matters for your goals and assessment. Some differences are normal and do not need correcting. When a difference is relevant, the plan may adapt the exercise, range, resistance, or amount of work for that side.

Does every class include a complete personal treatment plan?

Group classes share a session plan, with cues and options where appropriate. A complete individual assessment and tailored treatment or training plan requires a suitable one-to-one appointment. Treatment and fitness coaching have different purposes, which will be explained to you.

How does this connect with the 3 Treatment Challenge?

Both reflect Mellissa’s commitment to individual care. PerFIT describes fitting the approach to the person. The 3 Treatment Challenge describes a process of assessment, feedback, adaptation, and review when ongoing treatment is appropriate.

  • We take them and map out your current posture. {This is where we will see any alignment issues.}

  • Based on your personal posture graph, we will create a PERSONALIZED WORKOUT PLAN that will slowly re-align your body to its natural and healthy anatomical position taking into account any joint pain and/or body trauma. ⠀⠀

  • We will have bi-weekly check-ins to go over your short and long term goals of the program, how you are progressing, and you can ask any questions or pose any concerns. ⠀⠀

  • You will not be doing this 3-phase program alone! I will be right beside you EVERY STEP of the way!
